Emcee:
Don Dare has been an adult scouter for thirty-plus years. He’s held positions at the Territory, Regional, Area, Council, and Unit levels. Professionally, Don is an Emmy Award-winning reporter and anchor at WATE-TV in Knoxville, Tennessee.
As a volunteer Scouter, Don currently serves as Duty to God Breakfast Chair on the National Religious Relationships Committee, he’s a National Alumni Committee member, and CST 14, Vice-President of Marketing, He has served as NCAP High Adventure Chair, SR, V-P of Marketing; Area 6, President, a Scoutmaster, Cubmaster, District Chair, District Commissioner.
Don has attended seven National Jamborees with Hometown Media, as well as the 2019 World Jamboree, where he worked alongside the Global Ambassador to help Scouts create stories for TV and Social Media. Since 2015, he has served as the emcee of the Duty to God Breakfast at the National Annual Meeting.
Scouting recognitions include the Silver Buffalo, Silver Antelope, and Silver Beaver. Religious awards from the United Methodist Church include the Silver Torch Award, Torch Award, and Cross and Flame religious. For 25 years, Don has served as a Lay Speaker for the Holston Conference. Throughout his 55-year career in broadcasting, Don has received numerous national journalism awards, including the AP Reporter of the Year and Journalist of the Year in Tennessee.
Key Note Speaker:
Azhar Azeez was born in Hyderabad, India. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and a master’s in business administration (MBA). After a successful career in the corporate world, at General Electric and Capital One, Mr. Azeez transitioned his lifelong passion of serving humanity into his field of world. For 16 years he has served in different capacities as a top executive at Islamic Relief USA.
He currently serves as the C.E.O of Muslim Aid USA which is one of the fastest growing Muslim charities in US.
Mr. Azeez was elected as the President of Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) twice, which is the oldest Muslim organization of US & Canada. He is the current treasurer of ISNA. He is also the past President of the North Texas Islamic council (NTIC), which represents 60 plus Muslim organizations in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He is the Founder and the past President of Masjid Al Rahman (Islamic Association of Carrollton, Texas), one of the large mosques in the suburbs of Dallas, TX. He had served in the past on the board of The Islamic Seminary of America (TISA) & North American Islamic Trust (NAIT).
Mr. Azeez continuously works towards building bridges between people of various faiths and is nationally known for his interfaith work. He is a well-known public and motivational speaker who travels regularly around the US for local, regional, and national events of various faith-based and humanitarian organizations. He has addressed events, seminars, summits, conferences & banquets in more than 800 communities/cities across US & Canada.
Mr. Azeez has engaged and advised three US President’s, President Joe Biden, President Jimmy Carter, and President Barack Obama and currently resides in Plano, TX with his wife and children.
