2025 Religious Emblems @ NAM

During the 2025 National Duty to God Breakfast we were able to recognize ten outstanding Scouts and adults from the local area that had recently earned their religious emblem. How does your council recognize emblem recipients?

Travis Hamler: Central Florida Council, Global Methodist, God & Family

Travis Hamler is a Scout in Troop 617.  He completed the God and Family program while working towards earning the AOL rank with Pack 617.  He is the middle child of 3 boys all of whom are involved in Scouting in the Narcoossee district in Central Florida.  In addition to scouting, Travis also enjoys playing lacrosse, violin, rollerblading, and riding his bike.  He volunteers his time at church as a student leader for the preschoolers. 
 

Sukaina Askari: Longhorn Council, Islam, Bismillah

Sukaina Askari, a young Cub Scout Bear, she 8-year-old a highly self-motivated and hardworking girl who never stays behind in any task. Has distinguished herself with an extraordinary array of achievements, setting a gold standard for excellence and inspiring everyone around her. With unwavering courage and determination, Sukaina fearlessly completed the demanding 9-foot pool swim test, proving her resilience and confidence in the face of challenges. Among her remarkable milestones, she made history by earning the prestigious Bismillah badge, becoming the youngest and first girl in her pack to achieve this significant honor—a testament to her trailblazing spirit.

Her adventurous nature knows no bounds. Sukaina became the first girl in her pack to embrace the thrill of night camping, tackling the wilderness with enthusiasm and poise. She further showcased her adventurous prowess at the 3rd International Muslim Jamboree, excelling in canoeing, rock climbing, shooting sports, and hiking. Her versatility, courage, and passion for outdoor challenges have solidified her reputation as an exceptional young Scout.

Beyond her personal accomplishments, Sukaina’s dedication to service is unparalleled. She has spent countless hours giving back to her community through impactful initiatives, including cleaning streets, serving meals to the elderly, and distributing first aid kits. Her unwavering commitment to helping others reflects her compassionate heart and exemplary character.

In addition to her impressive achievements, Sukaina has taken on a leadership role as a denner, assisting her den leader with planning and coordinating activities. Her eagerness to learn, proactive approach, and ability to inspire others make her a natural leader and a beacon of hope for the future. Sukaina Askari is the epitome of a true Scout—courageous, compassionate, and endlessly driven to excel.

Morgan Kirschten: Central Florida Council, Baha’i, Unity of Mankind

Morgan started as a Girl Scout and Cub Scout and crossed over into Scouts, BSA in 2021, going on to earn Life Scout in Girls troop 4304 Rockledge, FL, Central Florida Council. She earned the Baha’i Unity of Humanity award at the Brevard Baha’i center along with other members of the Junior Youth classes. She has attended several leadership courses and served as SPL and summer camp staff. 
 

Samuel Kirschten: Central Florida Council, Baha’i, Unity of Mankind

Samuel “Sammy” Kirschten: Sammy is a lifelong scout with a custom made toddler size uniform to accompany his dad to scout events. He crossed over into Scouts, BSA in 2018 going on to earn Life Scout in boys troop 321 Rockledge, FL, Central Florida Council. He earned the Baha’i Unity of Humanity award at the Brevard Baha’i center, the first in Cluster. He is also in Sea Scout Ship Mercury 172 working on his Able rank. 

Anderson Family: Central Florida Council, Church of Jesus Christ for Later-day Saints, Vanguard Awards

James Willden Anderson: 82 years old, earned his Eagle Scout in April 1960. Has served as a Scoutmaster, completed Wood Badge (Beaver), and awarded the Scoutmaster Trainer Award and Scoutmaster Key. He received his Brotherhood Honor in January 2024. 

Timothy James Anderson: 55 years old, Served as Cubmaster, Scoutmaster and Committee Chair (Pack 3776, Troops 0776 & 4776, Crew 2776. Completed Wood Badge (Owl), staffed Wood Badge and NYLT. Earned Eagle Scout & Bronze Palm April 1985. He is Order of the Arrow Brotherhood Honor and has served as an Elangomat. 

Holly Ann Anderson: 48 years old, served as Cub Scout Committee Chair, Assistant Scoutmaster, Advancement Chair, Cub Scout Camporee Director, attended Wood Badge (Beaver), staffed NYLT, member of NESA. 

Evaine Angelica Anderson: 16 years old, Eagle Scout rank earned November 2024 and 2 Silver Palms. She has also earned the following Awards: Den Chief, Messengers of Peace, International Spirit, all Nova STEM, Supernova Dr. Luis Alvarez and Dr. Charles Townes. She is Order of the Arrow Brotherhood Honor and has served as Vice Chief, Elangomat, and Ordeal Taskmaster. Evaine has completed NYLT and Powder Horn and is now in Venturing Crew 2776. Attended 2 years of Seminary perfect attendance, currently serving as Young Women’s Secretary. 

Timothy James Anderson II: 14 years old, Eagle Scout rank earned November 2024 and 2 Silver Palms. He has also earned the following Awards: Den Chief, Messengers of Peace, International Spirit, all Nova STEM, Supernova Dr. Luis Alvarez and Dr. Charles Townes. He is Order of the Arrow Brotherhood Honor and has served as Vice Chief, Elangomat, and Ceremony Team. Tim has completed NYLT and Powder Horn and is now in Venturing Crew 2776. Attended 1 year of Seminary perfect attendance, currently serving as Teacher’s Quorum Secretary. 

Ariana Isobel Anderson: 10 years old, Webelos rank earned January 2025. Started Cub Scouts as a Lion, has earned Lion through Webelos ranks and is excited to become an AOL and Bridge to a Troop in January 2026. She has also earned the following Awards: Messengers of Peace, International Spirit, all Nova STEM, Supernova Dr. Luis Alvarez and Dr. Charles Townes.
