Bishop's Dinners on Scouting

Both the Roman Catholic Church and the United Methodist Church have found success in starting new units by hosting dinners in their Diocese or Conference and inviting clergy and youth ministers not involved in Scouting to attend. At the dinner, the Bishop speaks about Scouting, along with religious emblem presentations, testimonials, and a challenge to start a unit in your local congregation. Working with District Executives, the faith volunteers then follow up over the next six months to start as many units as possible, and bring more in-depth training.
