Introduction to Vanguard International Scouting Association

Lead by the National Lutheran Association on Scouting, this Zoom class was taught during the 2020 Virtual Interfaith Week hosted by the National Religious Relationships Committee.

Description: On January 1, 2020, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints discontinued its role as a charter partner with the Boy Scouts of America. For those Latter-day Saints desiring to continue their Scouting experience, the Church has encouraged them to join community Scouting units. Therefore, as with other denominations participating in Scouting, Latter-day Saints continuing their Scouting involvement will need an independent organization to support their efforts in Scouting, domestically and internationally. That is the purpose of the Vanguard International Scouting Association (or “Association”). This session introduces the new organization.
